Election 11/3/2020

Polls will open Tues., Nov 3, 2020 at 7 am and close at 8 pm.  You may absentee vote until noon on Friday 10/30/20, unless you are part of special group:  military, sequestered or hospitalized person.

Anyone with an absentee ballot out there is reminded that it must be received by 8 pm on Tuesday Nov 3rd in order to be counted!  There has been so much conflict in the news sources with certain groups trying to get that deadline extended but it has not been extended beyond election day. Please call the office at 715-678-2191 if you have any questions/concerns.

PLEASE observe social distancing, please wear your mask and come out and vote!  We have safety in mind with the setup of the polling place.  I really dislike the “not being able to visit with you” when people come to the office but with the surge in cases of Covid in Taylor County and the surrounding areas we need to be especially careful as to not spread the sickness!  I am the only person in this office so if I get sick I will be quarantined for the required time and this is too busy of a time of year to be out of the office for village business!

Thank you for your consideration!

PUBLIC TEST 10/26/2020

Public Test for Election Equipment for the Nov 3rd, 2020 General Fall Election will be held at Jean M Thomsen Memorial Library on Monday, 10/26/2020 at 10:00 am.

Absentee Voting still available

The time for registering online has passed.  You have the following options if you are not registered already.  (If you are unsure if you are registered, go to MyVoteWisconsin and check there or call the clerk’s office.)

  • You may go to the Wisconsin state elections board website and print off the registration application and submit it with a proof of residence and mail, email, or drop off at the clerk’s office.  You are encouraged to use the outdoor drop box for your correspondence and bill payments.

You may register at the clerk’s office but with Covid I am asking you to fill out the application from the website or you can call me and I will mail or email  you a copy of it.  You may also register on the day of election with proper proof of residence forms.  I am a one person office and if I get sick, there is nobody to take my place!!!

Absentee voting requests are still being accepted–by mail-email-in person. Please call the clerk’s office if you have any questions- 715-678-2191.  I will be glad to help you.    The last day to vote absentee is Friday October 30th by noon.  Please take care of this as soon as possible so that you do not miss out on your chance to vote absentee if that is what you wish to do!

These are difficult times with the Covid virus hitting Taylor County so strong and if you are not comfortable coming to the polling place in person, you may take care of your absentee ahead of time.  I just want everybody to stay healthy and get this virus out of here!!

Found Phone!

A cell phone was found in the Legion Park on North Powell Street.  Please call village office at 715-678-2191 to identify.

Covid Precautions!!

Please help flatten the curve!  This virus is not going away but we can face it and stay healthy!

Back door!

The village has a new deposit box and bulletin board located by the North door of the library for your utility payments and other items, including absentee ballots.  Please get used to using this box rather than the library book drop, but we will still be checking that one also!  The new box will be checked daily Mon- Fri.

This is all in response to Covid–keeping the distance.  And with the library being open less hours, the door is locked when I am here alone.  Please use the new drop box.  Any questions, please call me at 715-678-2191 or email:  [email protected]     Clerk/treasurer Jan Tischendorf
